Structure overview of Rotary kiln

The rotary kiln mainly including kiln body, driving device, supporting device, catch wheel device, kiln head seal device, kiln end seal device, kiln head cover, etc, see figure 1-1 rotary kiln structure diagram.

1. Kiln shell section

Kiln shell is the trunk of rotary kiln, composed by rolled welded steel plate. Kiln shell installed tilt in a few support wheels, along kiln shell length direction covered several rectangles tires; it bears all rotary parts weight including kiln shell, materials, kiln lining, etc. and pass its weight to supporting device.

2. Big ring gear device

Kiln shell fixed large ring gear to transfer torque. Large ring gear link kiln shell through tangential spring plate, this link structure which make large ring hanging on the kiln make sufficient space between big ring gear and kiln, and reduce the effects of ring gear precision caused by kiln shell deformation, also play a role in cushioning shock, help extend the life of the kiln lining.

3. Drive device Drive type

Drive system can be single drive or dual drive, constitute by a set or two sets drive system. Each drive system generally includes main drive and auxiliary drive system. Main drive system consists of main motor, main reducer, small gear, etc. Auxiliary transmission system consists of auxiliary motor, auxiliary speed reducer, etc. Auxiliary motor electrical power is security power or self-equipped power generators, in order to conveniently install, maintenance, refractory drying and when power cut still can operate kiln, to prevent the kiln shell deformation. In the auxiliary motor equipped with brake, to prevent the kiln reversal under material and kiln skin laterality after motor stopped

4. Supporting device.

a. Supporting device is an important part for rotary kiln; it bears the kiln shell total weight, and positioning kiln, ensures kiln safely and stable operation.

b. Supporting device constitutes of support wheel bearing and welding seat base. Large-scale rotary kiln support wheel bearing generally use slide bearing, consists of support wheel, support wheel axle, axle tile, spherical tile and bearing seat, etc. Each bearing seat is equipped two thermal resistances; respectively examine lubricants oil temperature and axle tile temperature.

Working principle of Rotary kiln

Raw material powder is fed inside kiln from high end of kiln tail. Due to tilt and slowly turn of kiln, make the materials produce a roll rolling along the circumferential direction, also along axis direction make a composite motion from high to low end, raw material through preheating, decomposition, baking and other processes in kiln, forming cement clinker then discharged from the kiln lower end, into cooling machine. Fuel is injected from kiln head, burning in kiln, generate heat heating raw material, make raw meal calcine into clinker, during material and clinker heat exchange forming hot air, from kiln feeding side into the kiln tail system ( preheater and dust collector), finally through chimney emits into atmosphere.
